Spectrographic evaluation of X-ray fluorescence or spark emission provide an indication of the alloy components of powder, splinters and even large components. These methods require no sampling and allow an alloy determination in a short time. Therefore, they are highly suitable for use in positive material identification and are to be operated on a mobile basis.
